Another game, another record. Cristiano Ronaldo knocked off another personal milestone following his heroics for Portugal on international duty.

Portugal thrashed the Faroe Islands 5-1 on Thursday night with Ronaldo netting not one but THREE goals including a breathtaking effort.

According to the man himself, it was the goal which was missing from his mighty collection. "I had been trying to score a goal like this for a long time. It was the goal that was missing in my career," Ronaldo said via Daily Mail.

The 32-year-old scored his 76th, 77th and 78th goals while bagging his 48th (!!) career hat-trick.

In the process moving past Pele on the list of all-time international goalscorers.

And after Ronaldo surpassed the Brazilians 77 goals, he Tweeted a classy message to him. Pele wrote the following message: "Congratulations @Cristiano for joining the elite five of #FIFA international goal scorers. Parabéns!"

Ronaldo is now level with Iraq goal machine Hussein Saeed. Two behind Japanese sensation Kunishige Kamamoto, while having his eyes on a Real Madrid icon Ferenc Puskas who has 84 goals for Hungary.

Though Iran's Ali Daei still remains at the summit with an impressive 109 goals.
