Eva Carneiro Says She's Enjoying Football Six Years After Jose Mourinho Incident

Euro 2020 has been a delight to watch for many fans and for former Chelsea physio Eva Carneiro it's helped her enjoy football again.

Eva Carneiro, the former Chelsea physio who left the club because of Jose Mourinho, has revealed that Euro 2020 has allowed her to enjoy football for the first time in six years.

Carneiro was not the first or last person to fall out with Mourinho when he was at a club but she was arguably the one who it impacted most.

The former Blues physio was involved in an incident with the Roma manager in August 2015 when she attended to an injured Eden Hazard during injury time in a 2-2 draw with Swansea City.

Mourinho didn't allow her to take a place in the dugout or attend training sessions after the opening day of the 2015/16 season and she left the club some weeks later.

The 47-year-old hasn't been involved in the sport since and it seems that, understandably, the whole experience made he fall out of love with it.

However thanks, in part, to England's run in Euro 2020, Carneiro is now enjoying football again, with the physio tweeting about how much she's enjoying the tournament.

It's great to see Carneiro has been able to find a love of the sport once again as no one deserves to have a passion of theirs stolen away.

You can't help but feel the private consultant would have some war stories to swap with Luke Shaw, another former colleague of Mourinho's who is flourishing during the Euros.

The two times Champions League winner didn't treat the full back well when he was Manchester United boss, often criticising the left back, and even during the tournament criticised the 25-year-old's set pieces.

The former Southampton defender then responded by setting up a goal for Harry Maguire, against Ukraine from a free kick, got to love that.

It would really be difficult for anyone to have watched either of the two semi finals and not found themselves enjoying the four hours of entertainment they produced.

Italy vs Spain was one of the best games of football you're likely to see and finished with some incredibly tense penalties.

Jorginho made a mockery of that tension when he calmly rolled the final spot kick away, to help Roberto Mancini's side get to the final.

The second semi final might not have been quite as high quality but it still had all the drama necessary befitting of the occasion.

Wembley's atmosphere, as England beat Denmark, was also incredible, especially at full time, with Gareth Southgate leading the Three Lions to their first final of a major tournament since 1966.
