Mario Gotze has posted a lengthy, but positive update as he nears a return to full first-team training.
Just under a fortnight ago, in his first post on Instagram since January, Mario Gotze the 2014 World Cup winner posted a picture of him partaking in physical activity as he steps up his training ahead of pre-season with Borussia Dortmund.
Gotze has been out of action since February having been suffering from myopathy, a metabolic disorder.
Myopathy is a rare muscle disorder and is likely the reason as to why the World Cup winning midfielder has struggled so much for fitness, in the 2016/17 campaign, where he made just 16 appearances and had an underwhelming tally of two goals and two assists.

For a young athlete, myopathy could prove to be extremely problematic as it causes increased weakness and fatigue in the muscles, which means Götze will struggle to recover physically after each performance.

But in a positive turn of events, Gotze has confirmed that his treatment has been successful and he will return to training with Borussia Dortmund tomorrow.
