Loud Chanting Coaxed Mo Salah Out To Celebrate With Liverpool Fans

The Reds forward had already disappeared down the tunnel but re-emerged when fans chanted his name at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mo Salah cemented himself as an instant Liverpool legend by returning to the pitch to celebrate with the fans after their Champions League victory over Roma in the semi final second leg on Wednesday night.

This season it's been rare that Liverpool have not found a hero in their Egyptian forward, signed in the summer from Roma, but they were essentially heroless on Wednesday night against Roma.

They scored two goals in the first half through Sadio Mane and Giorgi Wijnaldum, the Dutchman scoring his first away goal for Jurgen Klopp's side since joining from Newcastle, but still managed to lose the game 4-2.

Still our favourite Salah moment of the season:

Salah was kept quiet against his former club and never looked like scoring, only registering one shot on target- much to the annoyance of a colleague who bet on both he and Mane to have two shots on target.

However despite their main man being kept quiet and the shipping of three second half goals Jurgen Klopp's side advanced thanks to their three goal advantage from the first leg, mainly down to Salah's brace.

After the match the former Chelsea winger had disappeared partway down the tunnel but loud singing of his name brought him back out to applaud the fans and celebrate with them:

The 25 year old Egyptian has been ever improving since leaving Chelsea, first for Fiorentina and then for Roma, and his season this year has been out of this world, bagging 43 goals in all competitions.

Before this year his biggest contribution had been a 19 goal season for the team he helped put out tonight and after the match the Egyptian was on usual classy form, thanking his former employers for improving him, saying, "Italian football changed the way I play, and I wanted to thank my teammates at Roma, and also my ex-manager Spalletti, I wanted to thank him for everything he did for me."

Just how much impact he'll have on the final remains to be seen, Salah vs Marcelo will be some battle, but if he gets on form he may well be hearing his name chanted even more!
