Manchester United continue their run of academy products in their matchday squad and Jesse Lingard is clearly very excited as to another youth product after praising Angel Gomes' recent highlights.

For everything that goes wrong at Manchester United these days, and at least their league season started with a win, at least David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have managed to continue the Red Devils run of fielding a youth product in their match day squads.

On Friday, against Leicester City, Mourinho started Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford whilst Scott McTominay came on as a second half substitute all to keep the run going.

Pereira, back from his loan at Valencia last season, and Pogba, wearing the captain's armband after his brilliant World Cup, shone as United went top of the table, for a day, with a 2-1 win over the Foxes thanks to Pogba's penalty and Luke Shaw's first goal for the club.

But they weren't the only academy products who impressed on Friday with 17 year old Angel Gomes scoring in United Under 23s 2-2 draw with Fulham's side and impressing overall:

And another man who's made the journey that Gomes is taking, Jesse Lingard, was clearly impressed with the teenager as the England star tweeted the youngster:

Gomes is one of the hottest prospects at Old Trafford right now, and was part of England under 17s World Cup winning squad last year, and he made his debut in the Premier League in May 2017, replacing Wayne Rooney against Crystal Palace.

With the likes of Gomes, Tanith Chong, Mason Greenwood, Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah it doesn't look like United's long sequence will come to an end anytime soon.
