Borussia Dortmund managed to throw away a 3-0 lead against Hoffenheim and see Bayern Munich close the gap to five points but Jadon Sancho had arguably his best performance in yellow to date.

Jadon Sancho might only be 18 but this season at Borussia Dortmund the England winger has been proving that he isn't one for the future and certainly one for the now.

Since his move from Manchester City, for around £8 million, in the summer of 2017, when he wanted to leave the Premier League champions, he has shown time and time again how good he is.

One has to assume that Dortmund director Michael Zorc was focusing on the brilliance of his player when he was bemoaning English clubs taking over from German sides in producing youth players, saying, "You know the English teams are reaching the finals of Under-17 [World Cup], Under-19 [European championships] compared to the German ones. It seems to me that they overtook us."

The former Watford youth player has turned himself into a first team player this season as Lucien Favre's side have topped the Bundesliga.

On Saturday he scored and helped them to a 3-0 lead over Hoffenheim and, though they ended up drawing 3-3, the Englishman had arguably his best game to date:

Sancho's form has led to the inevitable links with Manchester United recently linked with a £90 million move for him in the summer.

The teenager will be back in the country this week when he plays in the Champions League for Dortmund against Spurs, on this basis Mauricio Pochettino will need a good plan to stop him.
