Monaco may have sold off several of the players who were key components in their Ligue Un title winning campaign, last season, but the French champions still possess plenty of quality within their first team squad, as Radamel Falcao so brutally proved, this afternoon.

While all the talk in recent weeks has surrounded the future of teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe, who continues to be linked with a mega money move to one of Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, it was the South American veteran who proved that there is more to Monaco than their 18-year-old prodigy, with a vintage performance, complete with an early contender for goal of the season.
El Tigre would complete his hat-trick in the 51st minute to put the French champions into a 4-1 lead and the plaudits poured in for the former Atletico Madrid and Porto hitman.
