That technique...

France and Sweden meet tonight in a World Cup qualifier, reminding us of a memorable meeting between the two when they were paired in the same group at Euro 2012.

Sweden lost their first two games in Group G, while England and France each had a win and a draw from the first two fixtures.

England needed to beat Ukraine and hope for a favour from Sweden against France in the other game.

The Three Lions did beat Ukraine through a Wayne Rooney goal and at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Zlatan Ibrahimovic inspired his side to a 2-0 win over France, ensuring Sweden got some points on the board before they left the tournament.

Zlatan scored a stunning opener in the 54th minute. The striker was involved in the build-up and as the ball was shifted to the right flank, Ibra made his way to the edge of the box and took advantage of the space he was afforded to pull off a wonderful scissor kick on the volley.

That technique to adjust his body and slam home past Hugo Lloris is incredible.

Watch the goal as many times as you desire here:

It's a pity that he won't be playing in the fixture tonight after his retirement from international football earlier this year.
