Xherdan Shaqiri turns 25 today and is therefore halfway towards reaching the big 50.
Shaqiri is a well-travelled player having played for Basel, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and Stoke City yet he is still only relatively young. He hasn't always settled and struggled to become a regular in the Bayern Munich side after his big move.
Yet there's no denying his obvious technical ability. One of the occasions where this was on display in abundance was at the recent European Championships.

With Switzerland trailing to Poland in the round of 16, Shaqiri produced an audacious bicycle kick that nestled into the bottom corner in the 82nd minute. It was a goal we've all dreamt about scoring in heads and volleys.
Lukasz Fabianski was well and truly beaten.
Switzerland would go on and lose the game on penalties but by that time Shaqiri had already made his mark on Euro 2016 with what was arguably the goal of the tournament.

Happy birthday, Xherdan.
