Now Harry Maguire Is Getting Involved With His Own Meme

The Leicester City centre back is quickly becoming a national hero with his World Cup goal scoring exploits and he's even become a meme.

One day I hope to have children and if I do I'll make sure I take them to Wembley, point out the Harry Maguire statue and tell them of the great warrior's heroics in Russia in the summer of 2018, it'll be a great time.

Right now we can dream all the impossible dreams that we never thought would happen because every time England play they are surprising us and exceeding expectations in a weird and wonderful way.

The Three Lions sit on the brink of ridiculous history. Just one measly 90 minute semi-final away from only their second ever World Cup history and it's against Croatia.

No one is saying the Croats, with Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic running things from midfield, will be an easy team to play but it's not one of the usual world footballing powerhouses you'd expect to meet at this stage.

England got to their last four match thanks to goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli and the centre back has become a cult hero thanks to his time in Russia.

The Leicester City defender has a meme thanks to a picture of him talking to a member of the crowd from the aftermath of the Colombia game and now he's joined in:

Maguire has been one of England's best players as they've gone through the Group Stage with wins over Panama and Tunisia before a loss to Belgium, they then beat Colombia on penalties before the Sweden game.

The former Hull defender opened the scoring against the Scandinavians as he headed home Ashley Young's brilliant corner and he was clearly very happy with his goal:

Southgate's men have surprised everyone and also been pretty fortunate with the draw and shocks happening around them as they've just stuck to the plan.

On Wednesday they have the chance to make history, my future kids can't wait to hear all about it.
