Eden Hazard Consoled All Of His Chelsea Teammates After Penalty Loss

The Chelsea forward was the best player for the Blues and slotted away his penalty in perfect fashion against Manchester City.

There may be continuing questions about Eden Hazard's future at Chelsea but on Sunday he proved his leadership qualities by consoling his teammates after they lost the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out to Manchester City.

The Carabao Cup final was not an exciting game on Sunday. The match between Manchester City and Chelsea came with the hope of lots of goals following the 6-0 thrashing by City to their opponents just two weeks prior.

On top of that was the fact that earlier on Sunday Manchester United and Liverpool played out a pretty dull 0-0 draw so the thirst for chances and goals was palpable on social media between football fans.

Instead we got 120 minutes of no goals, with Kepa Arrizabalaga's defiance when it came to his substitution late in extra time the most exciting part of the final, at least before it went to a penalty shoot-out

In the shoot-out Kepa did manage a save but was left red faced as he should have saved Sergio Aguero's effort but let it squirm under him, wouldn't have happened with Willy Caballero in net.

The highlight of the spot kicks though was Eden Hazard's dinked effort, had the Belgian missed then City would have won, which they eventually did of course.

Eleven Sports though captured the moment where he went and spoke to all his teammates after they had lost, the real moment of class:

Perhaps the most intriguing moment that was captured is Antonio Rudiger lifting Cesar Azpilicueta off the floor with the defender unable to face the loss.

That's because Azpilicueta is the Blues captain and he'd already been criticised for not playing any part of in the ludicrous situation with the goalkeeper refusing to be subbed off.

Hazard has less than 18 months left on his contract and rumours about a move to Real Madrid refuse to go away. The transfer ban for Chelsea doesn't seem to be stopping them either.

Will the Blues be able to enjoy his dinked penalties for much longer?
