Ousmane Dembele Reveals The Exact Moment He Realised Messi's Not From This World

The Frenchman shares his memories of the Barcelona great.

Ousmane Dembele has paid Lionel Messi the ultimate complement, while pinpointing the outing that proved he's not from this planet.

Barcelona completed the signing of the French ace from Borussia Dortmund, shelling out an initial £97 million to acquire his services.

Following the mega sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, the Catalans identified Dembele as a player they wanted.

The 20-year-old refused to train at Dortmund, forcing his move through to Barcelona with the deal finalised which sees the promising youngster link up alongside Messi and Andres Iniesta.

And ahead of potentially making his Camp Nou bow this weekend, Dembele has spoken about his new teammates in glowing fashion.

"I remember two games especially. One against Chelsea, when Iniesta scored the goal to qualify for the Champions League final. When I see Andres now I remember it. I can't wait to tell him," Dembele told SPORT via Goal.

He then recalls Barcelona's Champions League encounter against Arsenal.

"And the other was a Champions League game against Arsenal. Barcelona had not done great in the first leg but in the second leg they produced a brilliant performance, with four goals from Messi."

"That's when I realised Messi's not from this world. It was incredible," Dembele added.

Also revealing he had a posted of the Spanish midfielder while attempting to imitate his game but to no prevail.

"I had a poster of Iniesta. He seemed like a different player to me: elegant, special, a genius. I watched all the Barcelona games to see how they played and the geniuses, Iniesta and Messi. After, I tried to imitate them but it was difficult."

Before claiming the Argentine is the best player to ever lace up a pair of football boots.

"They do things that no one does. Messi always plays at a sublime level. He's the best player in history!"

Barcelona entertain Espanyol on Saturday night as they seek to maintain their 100% La Liga start.
