Alphonso Davies has become a sensation in recent weeks and the Bayern Munich full back reached his highest speed on Saturday afternoon against Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The Bundesliga's return before any other major league has led to more eyes being on the German top tier than ever before, and that means more attention on Canadian Davies.

The 19-year-old's speed is the most incredible part of his game and he recently wowed fans by stopping Erling Haaland in the game against Borussia Dortmund.

On Saturday his pace was on show again as he reportedly reached his fastest speed of 35.4km/h against Dusseldorf.

Following the midweek victory over Dortmund, which effectively ended the Bundesliga title race for Lucian Favre's side, Davies' teammate Thomas Muller compared the full-back to 'Road Runner.'

After the 5-0 win on Saturday, the Ghanaian born youngster replied to the German's comments, saying, "I know the cartoon. I saw him as a child. Yes, I'm quick. I took it as a compliment that he [Muller] called me Road Runner. It's a good nickname for me.

"I don't think too much about the comments. I come here every day and do what I have to do and try to win as many games as possible.

"We had a tough game against Dortmund on Tuesday. We also wanted to show the mentality in this game and get the three points. We did that."

Bayern opened the scoring against Fortuna thanks to an own goal by Mathias Jorgensen after 15 minutes before Benjamin Pavard mae it 2-0 just before the half hour mark.

Robert Lewandowski continued his incredible season with two goals in seven minutes, either side of half time, to make it 4-0 after 50 minutes.

Davies then made it 5-0, and finished the rout, just two minutes later after he pressured on the edge of the Fortuna area, won the ball and walked through the defence before slotting home.

Hans Flick has certainly got the best out of the teenager so far and at only 19 Davies is likely to only get better from here.
