Lionel Messi's Combined Goals And Assists This Season Blow Cristiano Ronaldo Out Of The Water

Lionel Messi is miles ahead of the competition when it comes to assists and goals this season.

The 31-year-old Argentine ace has 55 in total, with second place going to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo with 36 to his name.

Manchester City's Raheem Sterling is one behind the Juventus ace in third place, while Real Madrid's Karim Benzema came fourth with 30.

The Barcelona captain stepped up to the occasion in the Spanish club's Champions League clash with Lyon, scoring twice and assisting twice in their 5-1 thrashing of the Ligue 1 side at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.

The Champions League's final eight teams are Liverpool, Ajax, Manchester United, Porto, Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, City and Barcelona.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland, on Friday.
