A glorious piece of skill from the City youngster.

Patrick Roberts produced a scandalous nutmeg on Daley Blind during Manchester City's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.

The English winger was handed a start as Pep Guardiola's side took on their rivals in the International Champions Cup at NRG Stadium in Houston through the night.

It was a good opportunity for fans to see new players in action for both sides, with City including Kyle Walker and Ederson Moraes while United had Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof in their team.

With his 18-month loan at Celtic coming to an end, Patrick Roberts got a 45-minute run out and performed well, with the highlight of his game being this brilliant nutmeg on Blind:

That's just a little glimpse of some of the quality Roberts showed during his time at Celtic.

He spent 18 months on loan at the club, winning four major trophies and getting valuable experience of Champions League football. But it looks unlikely that Roberts will be back at Parkhead as he gets a chance under Guardiola throughout this pre-season.

Another City youngster, Phil Foden, a couple of years younger, made a huge impression with his performance last night.

The Stockport starlet, 17, was handed his first ever start for City in last night's game in Houston, Texas.

Even with it being a friendly, one would typically expect, and accept, a lad who only turned 17 in May to play within himself. After all, his first start for City came against arch-rivals Manchester United in front of 67,000 fans in attendance.

But that wasn't the case at all, as Foden was completely unfazed and churned in a performance that showed exactly why he is regarded as one of the gems in Manchester City's academy.

The boyhood blue, who has been with City since the age of five, looked completely at home in the first-team environment.

Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the special talent and spoke glowingly about the display his prodigy served up in his 74 minutes on the pitch last night:
