The Slow Motion Version Of Lionel Messi’s ‘Impossible’ Nutmeg Is Football Porn

The Barcelona star nutmegged Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis and this angle shows just how good it was...

There are moments in sport that make you say 'how the hell did they do that' and watching Lionel Messi you often get those. The Barcelona forward pulled off one such moment against Filipe Luis last year.

Often the beauty of football for many of us is its simplicity.

Anyone can play a bit of football, even if it's just in the garden against a wall, because it's just kicking a ball about.

Occasionally though sport has the ability to make us open our eyes and think 'what the hell!' in a way that usually only more technical sports like gymnastic can do.

Lionel Messi's personal showreel of 'what the hell' moments is worth viewing alone and why many people think he's the greatest footballer of all time.

It's not just the goals it's the subtle touches, the passing and the thinking several moves ahead.

On a Saturday evening in November, Barcelona were held to a 1-1 draw away to Atletico Madrid, thanks to Ousmane Dembele's late equaliser, but as usual Messi still managed to steal some of the headlines.

The club's all time top scorer embarrassed Filipe Luis with a wonderful nutmeg but the new slow motion view of it just shows how utterly sexual it actually was.

Taking into account the whole move it's honestly ridiculous.

Messi jumps high to 'cushion' a header up. Normally a cushioned header is reserved for knocking the ball down at your feet but here the five time Ballon d'Or winner knows he needs to take some pace off it by heading it high and letting it come down to his feet.

Seeing one defender get behind him and another player coming from in front the 31 year old doesn't have much option other than to 'meg' Luis which he does with perfection, flicking his foot and rolling round the left-back in one movement. It's utter brilliance.

Luis shouldn't feel too bad though as even Antoine Griezmann didn't escape being embarrassed by Messi on Saturday:

What's so incredible is just how easy Messi makes the impossible look.
