You have to be pretty talented to break into the Real Madrid team aged just 21. Fortunately that's exactly what Marco Asensio is and the young winger has been showing that since he was a youngster at Real Mallorca.

It's fair to say that Zinedine Zidane has a few pretty good options to pick from in the attacking area of the pitch. Of course he's got the infamous 'BBC' trio of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale but that's not everyone.

Despite losing James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata this summer Los Blancos still have Isco in their squad and the last year has seen the emergence of Marco Asensio as a real talents, pun partially intentional.

In the Supercopa earlier this month the Spanish winger took centre stage with two goals against Barcelona in two legs and being especially important in the second leg when he started ahead of Bale and Isco.

These highlights from his time as a youngster at Real Mallorca, who he left to join the Bernabeu three years ago, prove that he's been showing just how good a player he was going to be:

Asensio's new contract

The Spanish winger played 38 games in all competition last season, scoring 10 goals in the process. But his path to the first team has previously looked blocked by the incredible talent around him.

However the 21 year-old really showed what he can do in the Supercopa against Barcelona in the last two weeks. He scored in both legs and kept Gareth Bale on the bench in the second game.

Now Marca are reporting that Real are set to offer him a new contract and, in an attempt to keep any interested teams well away from him, will add a €500 million release clause into the new deal.

The newspaper report that the idea is to make him as important in terms of his contract release clause as Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, high praise indeed for such a young player.

In fact that kind of release clause will make him worth more than Lionel Messi and proves just how ridiculously low Neymar's release fee of £198 million actually was, it was always far too affordable.
