Lionel Messi can barely go a week without making us all think we know nothing about football as he exists on another level. Against Getafe on Sunday night he proved it once more.
It has become rather difficult to describe Lionel Messi. There is no hyperbole because every adjective and description doesn't quite do the South American justice.
The Barcelona forward has broken more records than is possible count, scored a ridiculous amount of goals, set up teammates countless times and has won pretty much everything there is to win in the sport.
But when it comes to the 31 year old the stats and facts still don't quite do him justice because everytime he has a 'worse' season or Barca don't win anything he's still ludicrously better than everyone else.

On Sunday night Messi scored his 399th La Liga goal, which may have gone up by the end of the match, as Barcelona went `1-0 up against Getafe in La Liga.
But perhaps the best piece of work he produced on the night was a pass to Luis Suarez that fooled the whole of the defence, and might have fooled Suarez if the striker was a lesser man.
So much of course is made of Messi's goalscoring, remember 399 La Liga goals, but he might also be the best passer in the world, which is ridiculously impressive.

The Barca number 10 had a lot to be cheerful for on January 6th with fierce rivals Real Madrid dropping yet more points against Real Sociedad.
Simply lost for words!
