Red Star and Partizan's fierce rivalry has been named the biggest football rivalry in world football ahead of Superclasico between Boca Juniors and River Plate.

The Eternal derby, which is also known as the 'Derby of Southeast Europe,' has resulted in tense confrontations both on the pitch and off it.

And FootballFanCast ranked the rivalry at the top of its 20 biggest rivalries in football history.

The publication said that the 'passion and exhilaration the fans inherit comes from the success on the pitch with the result.'

And FootballFanCast added that passion and exhilaration could also lead to supporters clashing off the pitch, with riot police having a 'huge job on their hands when this comes around.'

The iconic Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers ranked third, while Barcelona and Real Madrid's legendary El Clasico rivalry also made the top 10.
