Playing against Marouane Fellaini has never looked like a walk in the park and right now the Manchester United midfielder is in a great run of form. Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard revealed what it's like to face the tall Belgian.

Remember when the world made sense and Marouane Fellaini was the kind of thing that showed how Manchester United had become a laughing stock and he was hated by the United fans? Well things have certainly changed.

Fellaini was the personification of everything that went wrong for the Red Devils once Sir Alex Ferguson left, from the farcical state of affairs when they signed him from Everton to his on pitch performances he just wasn't right.

However in recent times he's been used by Jose Mourinho to the right effect and suddenly the mood at Old Trafford for the former Everton player is a lot different as his form for Jose Mourinho has made him a bit of a hero.

One player who knows both United and Everton well, and came up against the Belgian several times in midfield, is Steven Gerrard and talking on BT Sport he explained what it's like coming up against Fellaini, saying:

Fellaini has four goals in seven appearances for Mourinho's side so far this season and half of his Premier League appearances have come off the bench, although he is now starting in Paul Pogba's absence.

The 29 year-old's former captain at Goodison Park, Phil Neville, was certainly enjoying his former colleague's performance yesterday:

If Fellaini carries on like this he'll have a statue outside Old Trafford in no time!
