When a rivalry is so deep and full of hatred you'll take any type of win possible and for Liverpool fans on Friday night that was being able to point out David de Gea's total mess up and its comparison to Loris Karius' mistakes vs Real Madrid.
Not even a month ago Real Madrid won their third Champions League final in a row in a dramatic match against Liverpool.
For once for Los Blancos it wasn't Cristiano Ronaldo who stole all the headlines but Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos as their all time top goalscorer had a very quiet night.
That's the kind of thing that would normally annoy the former Manchester United forward but it didn't take too long for the attention to back on him with a World Cup hat-trick for Portugal against Spain on Friday night.

That included a goal that was all the doing of David de Gea after the United keeper allowed a long range shot to hit him and spin behind him into the net in embarrassing circumstances.
That was all the ammo Liverpool fans needed to take the piss out their rivals as revenge for their goalie Loris Karius who made two big mistakes and took some huge criticism in the final in Kyiv:
It obviously won't make Manchester United fans think twice about taking the piss out of a Liverpool player next time one makes a mistake but for tonight at least they got a bit of karma.

That said the mistake wasn't in a United game so you imagine they'll probably get over it pretty quickly.
