Player's Wife Rips Into Robin Van Persie For Getting Husband Sent Off

Van Persie was up to some antics this weekend.

Robin van Persie is a player who likes to stay away from all controversy, just ask Arsenal fans, ahem. However this weekend the Dutch striker got himself involved in less than sportsmanlike situations and the wife of one of his opponents wasn't too happy.

Since his days of moving from Arsenal to Manchester United and then winning the title with United, sorry Gunners, RvP has moved to Turkey to play for Fenerbahce.

Just two seasons after helping the Old Trafford side to their 13th Premier League title the Dutchman was seen as surplus to requirements by fellow countryman Louis van Gaal. He's continued his scoring ways with 22 league goals since his move to Turkey.

And on the weekend he managed to cause controversy by getting Dusko Tosic sent off by hitting the deck pretty easily following an altercation with the Besiktas player, in which RvP looked to have grabbed Tosic by the head before the 32 year old retaliated:

And Tosic' wife wasn't too happy. Referring to Van Persie as a "stupid motherfucker" on Twitter before deleting the comment as per her husband's request.

And Van Persie wasn't done there. In typical fashion he went on to score the winner as the Istanbul sides met in the Turkish cup. During the match the former Arsenal striker had been seen winding up fellow former Gunner and one time teammate Oguzhan Ozyakup.

To celebrate his winner the 33 year old decided to continue his feud by celebrating in front on Ozyakup:

His former team mate wasn't too happy, saying after the match, "I have a lot to say about the incidents on the field. But I won't say them.

"Just one thing - I was very good friends with a certain player on the field. That changed today. Sometimes you see the real face of a footballer on the field."

Good old Robin, always making friends!
