Pep Guardiola would have loved VAR last week but instead he was left frustrated by a refereeing error that cost his Manchester City side. Now he's blaming two Premier League rivals for the system not coming in next season.
City always faced an uphill struggle against Liverpool on Tuesday, after all they were 3-0 down from the Champions League first leg, but they weren't helped when the referee wrongly disallowed a second goal for Guardiola's men.
The is what happens when referees try to get their revenge:
Leroy Sane was seemingly in an offside position when he put the ball in the net and the goal was disallowed but the last touch clearly came off James Milner so the goal should have been forgiven.

The City manager was so incensed he managed to get himself sent to the stands for the second half after giving the ref a piece of his mind as the teams departed for the break.
He wouldn't have such problems if the Champions League had VAR instead of the extra officials and Guardiola would have been hoping for the system in the league next season. However clubs in England voted against it for next term and Pep blamed two of his rivals, saying:
"I think Manchester City agreed to it but the other top teams, United and Chelsea, didn't want it. It's okay, it will happen though. Not just here in England, all around the world, the referees must be helped. Today the football is quicker, it's faster.
"Now, for example, right now we don't know if it was a penalty or no penalty for Madrid. It's not easy for the referees. I think they need to be helped, but if the guys decided to do that, it will happen."
The Premier League's bosses did seem to just not want to rush into using VAR. There's no doubt it can help referees but it still has plenty of problems and the top tier sides just want those issues to be ironed out before introducing it.

VAR will continue to be trialled by the FA during FA Cup and Carabao Cup games as it has been this season where there's been plenty of issues, especially when it comes to the crowd not knowing what's going on.
For now Pep is clearly a fan, but they'll be plenty glad the system won't be introduced next season.
