Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher picked their combined Manchester United and Liverpool XIs on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.
That's right, the two pundits picked the best players from both teams and, of course, there was an argument waiting to happen.
The United legend picked Paul Pogba as his holding midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation, with the former Liverpool star astonished by his choice.
"Holding what? He's the most undisciplined player of all time!" he said.
For Neville's part, he wasn't completely sold on selecting the World Cup-winning Frenchman.
"I didn't pick him with much conviction, to be honest with you. I was clutching at straws," he explained.
"Matić. Jordan Henderson and James Milner they're in and out of that midfield in terms of playing.
"I wasn't convinced by anything just through what's been happening.
"I just thought it's an opportunity for me to put a United player in, to be honest!'
Neville also added on Sky Sports: "Perhaps I was clutching at straws, but I looked at it as an opportunity to put a United player in there, as I think Pogba is United's best central midfield player and the most talented at the two clubs."
Meanwhile, Carragher explained why he chose Matić as his holding player in the same 4-3-3 formation.
"I've put Nemanja Matić in because he's the classic holding midfielder; he's been there, done it and won titles. He's probably the best holding midfield player in both squads," he said.
Liverpool will host United at Anfield on Sunday.
Jürgen Klopp's men are at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City suffered their first defeat in the league against Chelsea.
José Mourinho's side climbed up to sixth place after their 4-1 thrashing of Fulham.
Both teams are in Champions League action before they meet on the weekend, with Liverpool hosting Napoli at home on Tuesday and United taking on Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium on Wednesday.
