"Arsenal Are Still The Biggest Club In London" Despite Chelsea Champions League Win

"Arsenal Are Still The Biggest Club In London" Despite Chelsea Champions League Win

Chelsea won their second Champions League title but one former Tottenham Hotspur player still believes Arsenal are London's 'biggest club.'

Jamie O'Hara has claimed that Arsenal are still the 'biggest club' in London because of their historic achievements, despite Chelsea winning the Champions League for the second time.

Chelsea's victory on Saturday night, beating Manchester City 1-0 thanks to Kai Havertz goal, means they've been crowned European champions twice in the past nine years.

The Blues have also won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups and two Europa League since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.

In the same time frame Arsenal have won one league title, in 2004 before Chelsea's first and five FA Cups, whilst falling out of being a regular top four finisher in the league.

All this has led Trevor Sinclair to say that the west London side are now 'bigger' than the Gunners.

"I think there are," the former Manchester City winger told talkSPORT, "What they've achieved over the last ten years has been incredible, I think the stadium needs work but Cobham is unbelievable as a training facility, you look at the playing squad and what they've achieved over the last ten years.

"You have to look at them as the top club in London.

"...There are a lot of big clubs in London, but I do feel Chelsea are leading the way."

However former Spurs midfielder O'Hara reckons that years of history still means Arsenal lead the way, "I disagree, sorry Trev," he replied.

"I'm a Spurs fan, but you can't get away from the fact Arsenal are the biggest club in London.

"If you're going on history, real success over a football club, fanbase and everything that comes with a football club, I'm sorry...

"Chelsea are the most successful club in London right now, we know that, they've got a billionaire owner and they are the most successful club..."

Honestly deciding who is the 'biggest' club might be the most pointless argument in all sport, and that is saying something!

If you did make the argument that Arsenal are a 'bigger' club do you think anyone at Chelsea really cares? They just won the Champions League, and that's what matters!

Similarly Manchester United are almost certainly still the 'biggest' club in Manchester but again, who cares? Manchester City just won the Premier League, something United haven't done in eight years.
