Mo Salah has said that Pep Guardiola is wrong and if anyone gave the Manchester City manager the choice he would pick winning the Champions League over the Premier League.
Back in April, when his team were knocked out of last season's Champions League against Spurs in the quarter finals, Guardiola said, "The Champions League is seven games, you can win the Champions League but the league is every three days in the same month.
"I'm sorry but it's much more important what these guys have done the whole season."
City went on to beat Liverpool for the league but the Reds went on to win their sixth European title. Ahead of Jurgen Klopp's side taking on Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup, forward Mo Salah was asked about Guardiola's quote, by CNN, and the Egyptian denied the idea, saying, "Honestly, I didn't know that he [Guardiola] said that, but I think if you give him a choice to choose which one, he would choose the Champions League.

"That's my opinion. I'm not talking about him, but my opinion. It's the biggest competition in football, so everyone wants to win it.
"Every coach, every player wants to win it, dreams of winning it. So, of course, the Premier League also is something big, but still the Champions League is the biggest competition."
It could easily have been argued last season that Liverpool and City would have happily swapped titles at the end of the season.

City have never won the Champions League, despite the money pumped into the club, and have only once reached the semi-finals.
In contrast Liverpool haven't won the top tier in England since 1990 and are yet to win in title in the Premier League era.
Talking about winning Liverpool's sixth European title, Salah added, "It's a dream for everyone, the city, the players, to win a Champions League is something so great and something very big.

"So everyone was having that special moment. I was feeling like a kid whose dream comes true."
Klopp's side started their latest attempt at winning the league with a 4-1 win over newly promoted Norwich City on Friday.
They were soon outdone by their title rivals though as Guardiola's team were 5-0 winners against West Ham in the early kick off on Saturday.
What's worth more, winning the league or the Champions League?
