Maxi Lopez Posted Praise For Neymar Just Before Mauro Icardi Signed For PSG

The former Sampdoria teammates don't get on after Icardi allegedly had an affair with Maxi Lopez's then wife before marrying her himself.

Maxi Lopez took an indirect shot at foe Mauro Icardi by posting an emotional message to Icardi's new teammate Neymar, just moments before he signed for PSG.

Famously Lopez and Icardi don't get on at all. The two former Sampdoria teammates were friends off the pitch until the younger man cheated with Lopez's wife and then after their split married Wanda.

The former Inter captain put a summer of speculation behind him on Monday night by signing for PSG on loan but before he did Lopez took a cheeky dig with an Instagram picture with Neymar.

Posting on social media the caption read, "Brother, those who know you, know you are a humble, open and sensitive person. You are in this club, but you will always be one of the best in history."

In July Crotone striker Lopez explained how hurt he is by Icardi's use of his children against him, saying, "When I saw the photos of my children wearing Inter and Newell's shirts, I told them that they would only understand once they became a father.

"It really p****s me off of seeing my children used. Then several times he hung up the phone while they were talking to me.

"I have seen my children only twice in the last year: there is an agreement signed with a judge who has never been respected. I'm losing part of their life.

The former Barcelona youth player had a falling out with former Inter boss Luciano Spalletti last season but the signing of Antonio Conte as new boss at the San Siro didn't help his future at the club.

Icardi wanted to move to Juventus but the Nerazzurri didn't want to let him leave to a rival, leaving him with little choice in the transfer window.

With Monday being the last chance for him to move he signed a new deal with his club and then went on loan to PSG, who have a 70 million euro option on the deal.

Neymar wanted to leave the French capital in the summer and return to Barcelona but the Catalan giants and Ligue 1 champions couldn't agree a fee.

With the Brazilian staying put and being joined by Icardi it leaves Thomas Tuchel with those two plus Kylian Mbappe and club record scorer Edinson Cavani as options up front.

How will PSG line up once all four are available?
