Wayne Rooney Posted The Perfect Message To Manchester City Fans

The former Manchester United captain was back to annoying fans of City despite returning to play for childhood club Everton.

Wayne Rooney scored his 50th, 150th and 200th Premier League goals against Manchester City. He's clearly used to annoying their fans and he took to Twitter with the perfect message for the Etihad faithful.

There was a time when it looked like Wayne Rooney would do the unthinkable and move from Manchester United to Manchester City but for most of the previous 13 years he has not been a friend of City's.

In fact the man known as Wazza has scored more goals in Manchester derbies than any other person ever. His 11 goals in games between United and City put him one ahead of both Joey Hayes and Francis Lee.

So fans of Pep Guardiola's side would have been forgiven for letting go of a sigh of relief when he moved back home to Goodison Park this summer.

However on his first return to Manchester since becoming an Everton player again his first half strike eventually earned the Toffees a point.

One eagle eyed football fan noticed that some of the annoyed faces in the crowd had seen it all before:

And Rooney was clearly also very happy to see his old friends:

It's quite amazing that Rooney has reached three such milestones against the same club and also scored his first and 100th Premier League goals against Arsenal.

It wasn't a good night for Pep Guardiola's side as they failed to beat Everton for the third game in a row with Ronald Koeman's team taking four points off the Citizens last season.

Raheem Sterling's late equaliser will have given Guardiola something to smile about but the controversial red card for Kyle Walker will not make him happy at all.

Everton conceded for the first time in four games but there were plenty of positives for Koeman, not least his returning star's goal and top quality banter!
