Mo Salah was reminded of Liverpool's draw with Manchester United in an interview and the Reds' forward had the perfect retort when it came to suggestions it could happen again.

Liverpool's 1-1 draw with United in October, which came via a late Adam Lallana equaliser, remains the only time Jurgen Klopp's side have dropped points this season with 20 wins from their 20 other games.

On Sunday Jurgen Klopp's team play host to their fierce rivals in the league's second M62 derby of the season and one journalist reminded Salah that they'd failed to win the first meeting, with the Egyptian simply saying, 'Yes, because I was injured," genius!

Salah was missing for the first game between the two this season and Divock Origi deputised for the forward, who has been Liverpool's top scorer in the previous two seasons.

The Belgian striker was involved in the controversy that led to United's opener in the game as he looked to have been fouled by Victor Lindelof in the build up to Marcus Rashford's opener.

VAR checked the potential foul but ruled in favour of the home side who took the lead and didn't look like losing it until the second half.

The introductions of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana troubled the hosts and the latter scored the equaliser with not long to go.

At the time the result cut Klopp's team's advantage at the top of the table to just six points but things have only got better for them since.

They now lead second place Manchester City by 14 points, and have a game in hand, whilst United remain 27 points behind the league leaders.

Salah is in the squad this weekend for the return fixture in Liverpool and is almost certain to start whilst the European champions will likely welcome Joel Matip and Fabinho back into the squad.

This time it's United who have injury problems with top scorer Marcus Rashford looking a doubt after picking up an injury in Wednesday night's FA Cup replay win.
