Chelsea are playing the first sh*thouse move of the new Premier League season, by announcing they will parade the Champions League trophy ahead of their friendly with Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea won the Champions League back in May when they shocked the odds to beat Manchester City in the final in Porto.

Attempts were made to move the final to Wembley to allow more fans to get to the game but in the end it was in Portugal.

The Blues are now going to give more of their fans the chance to see the players with the trophy at Stamford Bridge, ahead of their pre season friendly with rivals Spurs.

"At the match at Stamford Bridge, the Champions League trophy will be paraded for the first time since the glorious night in Porto back in May," the club said.

The game with Tottenham will take place on August 4th, just nine days before the league campaign starts, and the move will mock Spurs who aren't even in the Champions League next season.

The north London club haven't won any silverware since winning the League Cup in 2008 and their lack of trophies is something their rivals often mock them for.

Mauricio Pochettino did lead them to the final of Europe's elite club competition in 2019 but they lost to Liverpool, with Moussa Sissoko giving away a penalty in the first minute.

Poch's successor Jose Mourinho led the club to the final of the Carabao Cup last season but he was sacked just six days before the game at Wembley.

Chelsea are expecting a near full capacity crowd for their game with Spurs, which will be the first time that many people have been at Stamford Bridge since a 4-0 win against Everton in March 2020.

Thomas Tuchel would love to be able to field Erling Haaland in his team for that game, with the European champions desperate to add the Borussia Dortmund striker to their team.

The Blues have also been linked with a move for Spurs' striker Harry Kane, who is likely to come up against them in the friendly.

Tammy Abraham has been linked as a potential swap option for Chelsea if they do try to sign Kane, but the striker looks more likely to move to their rivals Arsenal right now.
