Jose Mourinho Had A Go At Three Manchester United Players At Team Meeting

The Manchester United manager was already annoyed with his side before their Premier League loss to West Ham at the weekend.

Jose Mourinho wasn't happy with his team after their loss to West Ham at the weekend but even before that Premier League loss he'd ripped into three of his players at a team meeting.

It's wasn't the best week in Jose Mourinho's management career as the Manchester United manager oversaw his side's draw with Wolves and loss to West Ham in the Premier League whilst being knocked out by Derby County in the Carabao Cup came in the middle.

All this has led to the ongoing threat of him losing his job increasing with more and more rumours about the possibility of Zinedine Zidane taking over at the helm.

The problems are all being played out in the context of arguments with members of his squad, most notably with Paul Pogba and the cameras that caught the pair arguing in training last week.

The Pogba issues reportedly started in a meeting last Monday when the manager told the player he would never captain the club again but it seems the Frenchman wasn't the only player in the line of fire that day.

According to the Times Mourinho had a go at two other players in the famed team meeting. Perhaps unsurprisingly Alexis Sanchez was one of those but notably Juan Mata was the final player.

Mourinho took Sanchez to London for the West Ham game on Saturday but the former Arsenal man wasn't even on the bench after the manager made it clear that he expected more from him after just three goals in 23 appearances since moving to Old Trafford last January.

Mata being singled out is somewhat surprising considering he isn't really considered as one of the main men in Mourinho's team and is more a squad player. The right wing, where he's filled in, is certainly a position that needs strengthening for United.

There is questions over the futures of both Pogba and Sanchez after the fallings out both seem to have had with their manager, especially following the Chilean being dropped at the weekend.

At his press conference ahead of the Champions League game against Valencia this weekend the United boss claimed that 'some [players] care more than others' after a week that saw them fail to win in three games.
