Cavani May Have Just Reignited Feud With Teammate Neymar

Cavani May Have Just Reignited Feud With Teammate Neymar

The PSG pair were at war a few weeks ago over penalties but things between Neymar and Cavani had calmed down, until now perhaps.

It's not that long ago that Edinson Cavani and Neymar were starting a civil war at Paris Saint-Germain and it looks like the ceasefire might not last that long after a recent Q&A with the Uruguayan.

When Neymar joined PSG, and we soon followed by Kylian Mbappe, it was supposed to be the start of just good and wonderful things for the French capital side as they marched towards the territory held by Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as European superpowers.

And whilst things have started pretty well on the pitch it was all threatened by a rivalry within the team between Neymar and fellow forward Edinson Cavani, with the Uruguayan only being allowed one season to enjoy being the main man in between Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure and Neymar's arrival.

The main bone of contention surrounded the taking of penalties but before the international break the hatchet seem to have been well and truly buried. But like the Undertaker being 'buried alive' it could be back long before Wrestlemania.

In an interview on the Uruguayan national team's YouTube channel the forward was asked who the best player he'd played with was and he didn't choose Neymar:

Whilst it's not exactly a direct insult at the Brazilian it's no doubt that it'll be a party line at PSG to big their world record smashing transfer fee player up as much as possible.

And after spending £198 million on signing the former Barcelona man it's no surprise if the PSG hierarchy back him on everything and not naming his teammate could come back to haunt Cavani at some point.

Cavani was also asked which player was his toughest opponent and he picked Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini whilst Diego Maradona was the greatest player ever according to the forward.
