Arsene Wenger Responds To Jose Mourinho's Mad Transfer Claim

The Manchester United boss moaned that his £300 million wasn't enough.

'My dog ate my homework,' 'Oh the jumper is in the wash, gran,' and 'the sprouts fell on the floor' just some of the dreadful lies we use as excuses much like Jose Mourinho's £300 million isn't enough guff. Arsene Wenger's had his say on the United manager's claim.

Did anyone think that Manchester City's 11 point lead from the other week wasn't quite enough to win them the title? Well thanks to two recent Manchester United draws that gap is now 12 points and will be 15 should City win their game in hand.

Pep Guardiola's side are now on the long walk to the title, that's how easy they can take it. That's after Jose Mourinho's side suffered their second 2-2 draw in succession on Boxing Day after Jesse Lingard's two goal salvo.

After the match the Red Devil's gaffer blamed a lack of spending saying the £300 million he'd thrown at his problems since taking the job in the summer of 2016 wasn't enough and he needed more.

In his press conference today Arsene Wenger wasn't buying it and responded to Mourinho's claims, saying:

"I have been in that position for 21 years so I can't start to complain now.

"There have always been three or four teams richer than I am. I've learned to cope with that. We deal with our own situation as well as we can. Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are all richer than us. We have to find ways to be successful"

Of course Manchester United fans, and many Arsenal fans too, would argue that Wenger hasn't really found a way to be that successful. The Gunners haven't won the Premier League since the Invincibles and until the last few years hadn't won anything.

In the last four years they've won three FA Cups but they had nothing in between 2005 and 2014.

For Mourinho though he should really just hold his hands up and admit his team haven't been good enough and that City are just too good for the rest of the league, it would save him coming up with bad excuses.
