Liverpool fans went into tonight's Premier League clash with Watford feeling positive - but their good mood was extinguished just five minutes into the game when Philipe Coutinho was taken off injured.
The little Brazilian playmaker was involved in a clash with Watford defender Adrian Mariappa in the early stages, with Coutinho definitely coming off second-best and looking immediately in severe pain.

He tried to hobble on, but just 11 minutes into the game, he was replaced by Adam Lallana, and it seems there's absolutely no question who the Reds' fanbase are holding responsible.
The incident looked like a complete accident without any malice at all, but some of the reaction towards Mariappa on social media this evening seems, well, pretty strong, to say the very least:
