Jeff Stelling cuts a passionate figure during even the most placid episodes of Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports but today the legendary presenter took it up a few notches to launch a scathing attack on Hartlepool United boss Dave Jones.

Stelling, a lifelong Hartlepool fan, couldn't contain his emotions on air today after 'pool slumped to a 2-0 home defeat against Barnet.

The result keeps Stelling's beloved United entrenched in the League Two relegation zone, second bottom and four points from safety.

And, with only two matches remaining of the season, defeat to Barnet today all but confirmed that Hartlepool would be sliding out of the football league in a couple of weeks time.

During the rant, Stelling even offers up his own position of club President in order for Jones to be removed from his job.

United are without a victory since 14th March, when they beat Cambridge United 1-0. Since then they have failed to win in seven outings and Stelling finally lost his rag in an enraged rant against manager Jones and the club's ownership, who he called upon to dismiss Jones if the former Sheffield Wednesday boss didn't leave of his own accord.

Since taking over in January, Jones has led Hartlepool to just four victories in 18 games, for a win percentage of just 23.5%.

Hartlepool face fellow strugglers Cheltenham Town next week before hosting already promoted Doncaster Rovers on the final day of the season. Victory in both games is a must, otherwise Stelling's beloved club will be playing non league football, next season.
