Chelsea pair Thibaut Courtois Alvaro Morata has been trolled relentlessly on Twitter after producing two horrible penalty misses,

After Premier League winners Chelsea and FA Cup winners Arsenal played out at an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Community Shield, the game went straight to penalties and the new 'ABBA' penalty system made its debut at Wembley.

Gary Cahill stepped up first for Chelsea and finished emphatically, before Arsenal found the net with Theo Walcott and Nacho Monreal.

But then, much to everyone's surprise, Courtois stepped up and blazed his spot-kick into the Arsenal end - producing one of the worst penalties in recent memory and being trolled big time as a result.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, however, Antonio Conte defended his decision to pick Courtois to step up second.

The new format would then mean a second consecutive penalty from Chelsea, and Blues fans would have been optimistic when club-record signing Alvaro Morata stepped.

However, he suffered similar fate to Courtois, dragging his effort wide, and also getting a rinsing on social media:

Arsenal would then capitalise on the two dreadful misses from 12 yards, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud both supplying confident spot-kicks to win the curtain-raiser and continue the Gunners' impressive recent run at Wembley.
