There Was One Arsenal Player Given A Torrid Time By Fans

Before Arsenal and Manchester City even took to the field there can't have been many of their fans expecting three points. However when the inevitable did happen it didn't stop their fans taking to social media to pick one player out for special treatment.
Did anyone think that Arsenal were going to beat Manchester City before kick off on Sunday? Obviously that person would have been wrong, but that's not the first time Arsene Wenger's been wrong.
Manchester City have been untouchable in the last couple of months and their only slip up was against Everton at the end of August and that feels like a long time ago considering both side's form since then.

So Pep Guardiola's side went into their game on Sunday against Arsenal as big favourites and it was no surprise that they came away with a 3-1 win that arguably should have been by a bigger margin.
The referee took a lot of stick for the loss after a 'controversial' penalty and an offside in the build up to the third however it was Arsenal's Francis Coquelin was was also on the end of a lot of the ire of Gunners' fans, especially on Twitter:

Of all Wenger's blind spots, Coquelin is the weirdest

"Coquelin bursting through the middle, bearing down on his own goal"

Well Francis Coquelin is playing a totally new, crucial position against the best attacking team in the PL in the last decade. That's fun.

It's 2025. Francis Coquelin is still starting games for Arsenal Football Club.

Nelson is not a RWB.
Niles is not a LWB.
Elneny is not a CB.
Coquelin is not a footballer.
Coquelin playing as CB. I mean, you gotta give it to Wenger. Man's got bigger balls than anyone.

Cech is shit. Iwobi should be in the championship. Alexis is playing for himself. Coquelin is Coquelin & Wenger hasn't got a clue. Great

Sanchez completed 26 passes in a whole game, Coquelin was in CB, Ozil was strolling and Lacazette was benched. Yet you blame referee. Apt!

Poor Coq!
