Martin Tyler Drops "Are Liverpool Going To Slip?" Line When Alisson Falls Over

Oh the irony.

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler has been accused of a bias towards Manchester United throughout his established career, despite actually supporting National League South side Woking.

Tyler, who has spent over 25 years behind the mic, has been called out for 'over-celebrating' a number of Manchester United goals.

From Federico Macheda's debut goal against Aston Villa at Old Trafford to 'that' Anthony Martial strike against Tottenham in September 2015.

Many feel the veteran commentator shows far less enthusiasm when other teams find the net, and to add fuel to the fire, the 73-year-old dropped a cheeky line during Sunday afternoon's Merseyside Derby,

In the 62nd minute, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made a rare mistake on the Goodison Park surface, losing possession in the process.

Moments later, Tyler, whether he meant it or not, described his slip with a hint of irony.

"Alisson slips, are Liverpool going to slip?" he said.

As you can imagine, viewers picked up on the question and took to social media almost immediately.

Last year, Tyler played down suggestions that he follows another Premier League side, referring back to the time he got 'excited' about Sergio Aguero's famous goal to win Manchester City the league.

He even said he is probably the only commentator to not have a Premier League team:

"This thing where you have to have a Premier League team is garbage. It's the accident of birth. It's the one thing that irks me when people say you must have a Premier League team, I absolutely, categorically don't." he said.

"How can I be a Man United fan when I've got excited about Aguero. All I do is react to the game.

"It's a great bonus to not have a Premier League team. I'm probably the only commentator to not have a Premier League club."
