It's not completely the Carabao Cups own fault that it hasn't had a lot of love this season, even it's predecessors the EFL, Worthington and Capital One cups suffered and Gary Lineker summed up exactly why on Tuesday night.
This season the league cup, which has had more sponsorship deals than David Beckham, has been a bit of a laughing stock. Now sponsored by Asian energy drink Carabao the draws for each round have been a bit of a farce.

Between clubs getting drawn twice, no one being able to watch the stream and the draw being done in China at 4 am English time things just haven't gone well when it comes to picking balls out the hat.
On Tuesday night though all that was forgotten with the real business end of things kicking off with two quarter finals. Arsenal hosted West Ham and Leicester City had the task of playing Manchester City, undefeated in English football.
Pep Guardiola's side made a load of changes to his team but Claude Puel surprised everyone by doing the same, thus summing up the problems the tournament has and Gary Lineker was quick to sum things up:
Leicester managed to take the game to penalties but only after bringing Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and Demarai Gray on a subs but failed in spot kicks when first Vardy and then Mahrez missed.

Fans were very much in support of Lineker's message, surely clubs should be trying to win trophies:
The poor Carabao Cup, we don't all hate you.

Is Gary right? Should Leicester have played their full strength side tonight?
