Footballers get used to a lot of abuse, whether it's from opposition fans, the media or even their own fans, in person or online, there's a lot of it about. Simon Mignolet proved a dab hand at dealing with it all.
Fans have always been quick to have a go at the opposition, or even their own players, from the stands, whether it's been through route one booing or the invention of a hilarious song.
Perhaps the biggest change in the game today though is fans ability to have a go at their least favourite players even more anonymously and from afar thanks to the invention of social media, helpful to abuse your least favourite SPORTbible writer too apparently.
Liverpool's Simon Mignolet hasn't always been a favourite at his club for some of his rather high profile mistakes and after fishing for some insults himself on social media he was quick to call someone out for their less than original banter:

Unsurprisingly Liverpool fans were loving their number one for calling out the troll. That's some very good handling of 'abuse' by the former Sunderland goalie, maybe he could learn a thing or two from his Twitter game:
Fair play to Mignolet not shying away from the hate haha

Let this be a warning to fans, if you're going to try and take the piss out of Simon Mignolet you better make it funny!
In fact can we stretch that rule to everything.
