Mo Salah and Liverpool will have the chance to win the Champions League final after a dramatic night in Rome but the Roma Twitter account truly won the social media battle with a classy message for their former player.

£35 million! That's all it cost Liverpool to sign Mo Salah in the summer. That's definitely the bargain of the season and maybe even the best bargain ever when you consider the current state of transfer fees.

If Liverpool manage to beat Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 26th then the Premier League champions should find it in their hearts to give Roma some of the money.

Salah has scored 10 goals in 11 appearances for the Reds in Europe's premier club competition this season and his brace in the first leg of the semi-final proved to be decisive after his former club mounted a strong comeback in the second leg.

Roma won the match 4-2 only missing out on extra time by one goal. It was an off night for Salah against his past employers but after the match they sent a classy message on social media, wishing him good luck in the final:

There has been problems between the two sets of fans. There were clashes ahead of the first leg in Liverpool that have left one fan, Sean Cox, badly injured in hospital, and two Roma fans facing charges of GBH.

But Wednesday night was all about the manic football with Sadio Mane and Georgi Wijnaldum both scoring first half goals and seemingly putting the tie beyond the Serie A side.

Goals from Radja Nainggolan, Edin Dzeko and an own goal from James Milner nearly turned the tie around.

In the end it was Liverpool and Salah who went through. Real Madrid should not expect such a quiet night from the Egyptian in the final.
