Philippe Coutinho hasn't been having the best season for Barcelona and rumours of a move away from the La Liga champions have started. On Wednesday night he had a shocker as Barca lost 2-0 in the Copa del Rey.

When Barcelona decided to go after Philippe Coutinho he was supposed to be the next big part of their evolution as a football team, away from the team that Pep Guardiola had built at the Camp Nou.

With Andres Iniesta due to lead the La Liga club it looked like the Catalan giants wanted the then Liverpool midfielder to eventually replace their legendary playmaker.

Coutinho joined last January and helped them win a league title they were already leading whilst Iniesta left at the end of the season to join Vissel Kobe but things haven't gone great for the Brazilian this season.

The 26 year old has started just 11 La Liga games and there's rumours that he could be sold in the summer, possibly to fund a return for Neymar.

On Wednesday night things got worse as Ernesto Valverde's side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Copa del Rey. Coutinho came on at 1-0, missed a good chance to score and then gave away the ball in the build up to Sevilla's second.

Fans took to Twitter to show their displeasure:

The game was Kevin-Prince Boateng's debut as Lionel Messi sat out the game, with Luis Suarez only used as a substitute.

Despite the loss Barca do have a chance to go through still with the second leg to come next week.
