'How the mighty have fallen' could be a pretty decent way to describe the start of Jose Mourinho's season. Now the Manchester United manager has taken it even further at Wembley on Saturday night.

Jose Mourinho has been on the edge of meltdown all summer and it seems to be getting ever closer, whether it's totally of his own doing or not.

The United manager spent a good part of the summer complaining that he didn't get his own way in the transfer window as he missed out on a centre back and a right winger, his two priorities after the three signings he made.

He's been undermined by his own superiors especially over the Anthony Martial affair with the Frenchman reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal after being made to believe, by someone, he would outlast Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Last night the manager was at Wembley to watch England vs Spain and saw Luke Shaw set up Marcus Rashford for the Three Lions opening goal and was centre of attention after the cameras panned to him looking impressed.

But he was actually in the middle of the action before then when he was pictured slipping and falling outside the ground pre kick off:

Mourinho has started the season with two wins and two losses with United, an opening day win against Leicester and the recent victory over Burnley sandwiching two embarrassing defeats to Brighton and Spurs.

Questions have started to be asked about his future with the Red Devils and he's become favourite in the Premier League to lose his job.
