Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid over the signing of highly rated midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The 22-year-old played a huge role in Spain's success at the U21 European Championship this month, scoring twice.

But the player has revealed his desire to get more minutes under his belt after making just 12 La Liga starts last season.

A loan spell looks to be the most likely outcome, according to Sky Sports, because Ceballos has four years left on his current deal at the Bernabeu,

Spanish publication AS also report that Mauricio Pochettino has already assured the player that he would play a key role in his plans next season.

The midfielder is very keen on more first team action.

After lifting the European Championship, he said: "I want to play 40 games per season and have a key role."

The Spaniard might have also hinted about a potential move after he posted the following picture while on holiday in Florida.

Holding a phone in a classic red British telephone box, the 22-year-old's use of cryptic emojis is certainly intriguing.

Ceballos rose to prominence at Real Betis, where he made over 100 appearances for the club between 2014 and 2017.

He then joined Real Madrid in a reported €18 million deal but after two years with Los Blancos, it appears he wants to get more first team opportunities elsewhere.

Would Spurs fan be happy with the addition of Ceballos, even if it was just a loan deal?
