It looks like Manchester United are close to completing a deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes after reports claim the player is expected to sign a five-year deal in the coming days.
The Reds are believed to have held face-to-face talks with Fernandes' representatives last week ahead of a deal worth £50 million, according to The Express.
It comes after Solskjaer and his assistant, Mike Phelan, reportedly watched the player in Lisbon weeks previously.
A move for the Portuguese international appears to be a good piece of business based on the 25-year-old's form for Sporting this season.

The player has notched eight goals and seven assists in his last 15 games, and more recently produced a Man of the Match performance against Vitoria Setubal.
So what else will Fernandes bring to this, at times, lacklustre and unimaginative Manchester United side?
Norwegian journalist Jonas Giæver has created a brilliant Twitter thread detailing what to expect from the attacking midfielder.
Do you think the addition of Fernandes will prove a turning point at Old Trafford? Can he inspire them to a top four finish?
