What is the meaning of life? Is there a God? What is the secret to happiness? These are just a few unanswered questions in everyday life.

But today one of the biggest mysteries in life was solved - Xherdan Shaqiri's massive legs.

It's well-documented that the Liverpool forward has maintained a bulky leg, whether than be during his days at FC Basel, Bayern Munich or Inter Milan.

In fact, his pins have grown even bigger down the years, more recently with spells at Stoke City and current club Liverpool.

So how does he maintain these marvelous legs? A clip with international teammate Eren Derdiyok might just be the answer.

Here the Swiss international showcases his intense workouts and it genuinely hurts to watch.

Just take a look at the above footage and tell me this wouldn't burn.

Shaqiri definitely doesn't skip leg day and on his first training session for Liverpool after joining in the 2018 summer transfer window, many pointed out the obvious.

JUST LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THEM!

When called upon, Shaqiri often performs under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp but once upon a time, the 28-year-old and a certain Gary Neville had a bit of bad blood.

The former Manchester United defender called him "unprofessional" and a "disgrace" following Stoke City's relegation to the Championship.

After sealing his £13.5 million move to Liverpool, though, Shaqiri hit back in an interview with The Telegraph.

"They [the Nevilles] were Manchester United players. Maybe they don't like Liverpool! Some people like you, some people don't like you. I don't want to comment on what is said by people I don't know," he said.

"I think I played three years already in the Premier League and I've proved I can play here. I can score goals and give assists. I know the league well. I have a lot of experience. I think my score points speak for themselves. I was the top scorer in the team with goals and assists, so I don't have to say any more.

"I think everybody knows that [I was the best player last season]. My conscience is clear."

Then, in August, Neville ended up wearing a signed shirt from Shaqiri on Monday Night Football after losing a bet with Carragher.

Can Xherdan Shaqiri help Liverpool to a historic Premier League title this season after such an impressive start?
