The Premier League Officially Returns Tonight After The Longest 89 Days Ever

Let's kick this season off with a bang.

Ladies and gentlemen, The Premier League will officially return to our screens on Friday night as Liverpool host Norwich, and we couldn't be happier about life.

Jurgen Klopp's side go into the game as strong favourites but the German claims if his side aren't at 100%, they will be found out as they prepare to challenge for the title again.

"The first game of the season is always difficult." he said before kick-off. "Norwich have a clear plan and they have all my respect.

"These fixtures are always the banana skins. If you are not at 100%, you will slip."

Meanwhile newly promoted Norwich will be looking to avoid relegation on their return to the top flight.

Daniel Farke, the mastermind behind The Canaries achieving automatic promotion last season, believes Liverpool might be "the best team in the world" right now.

But he wants his players to be brave at Anfield.

"I had a little smile when I saw our first game is against Liverpool. For me, they might be the best team in the world right now." he said.

"Our lack of Premier League experience could be a positive. Our naivety could be a good thing.

"I want my players to go out there and think about why they first started playing football. I want them to be brave and enjoy playing."

Following Friday night's tie, Premier League champions Manchester City travel to the Olympic Stadium on Saturday to face West Ham.

Spurs will then face another recently promoted side, Aston Villa, in the late 5:30pm kick-off.

But perhaps the stand out fixture of the weekend involves Manchester United, who will try and secure all three points against Frank Lampard's new look Chelsea side at Old Trafford.
