It was announced back in January that Amazon are producing a brand new documentary series on Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos for Prime Video.

According to Marca, the highly anticipated documentary will be split into eight separate episode.

It will reportedly focus on the Spaniard's life, both on and off the pitch. The series is thought to feature friends and relatives giving their thoughts on Ramos, as well as behind the scenes footage from his home in Madrid.

Ramos will even showcase some of his bizarre art collection, which it said to include a painting of Leonardo Di Vinci's famous "The Last Summer" but with a twist.

Spanish publication El Confidencial claim that Ramos has his own version of the picture.

The defender's face is in place of Jesus Christ's, while teammate Marcelo is depicted as one of his disciples.

It is also believed that his girlfriend, Pilar Rubio, is among those in the painting, which is displayed in Ramos' living room.

Not only will fans watch Ramos' career at both international and club level in the upcoming documentary on Amazon, but also learn more about his Andalusian heritage and his tattoos.

Oh, and the defeat to Ajax on a miserable night in Madrid.

It sounds like Ramos is keen to see the finished product:

"I am excited to be able to share with football fans the keys to being a professional athlete and what is the responsibility of wearing captain's armband with Real Madrid and Spain, while having a normal personal life at the same time," Ramos said.

"I think that anyone who is dedicated to their profession can feel attached to this series and I couldn't have a better partner to do it with than Amazon Prime Video."

Georgia Brown, the director of European originals for Amazon, expressed her excitement at bringing the project to life.

"We are incredibly excited to bring this exclusive project with Sergio Ramos to Amazon Prime customers and football fans around the world," she said.

"It's fantastic content to enrich our Prime Video programmes in Spain, and we are sure that our clients will love seeing Sergio in these unique and private moments on and off the pitch."

Amazon has not revealed a release date for the Ramos documentary series.
