Minnesota United FC Have Adopted Oasis Song 'Wonderwall' As Club's New Anthem

MLS fans have been branded 'cringeworthy' and 'embarrassing' for their unconventional chants in the past, but Minnesota United have turned that perception around with a proper anthem from the stands.

It turns out after every home win 'The Loons' supporters participate in singing Oasis' number one hit "Wonderwall" and well, it might just be the best thing to come out of Major League Soccer for years.

With scarves raised and smoke surrounding the recently opened Allianz Field, thousands came together to sing the classic tune in unison. "BECAUSE MAYBEEEEEE!"

We strongly suggest you give this one a watch, folks.

It was Minnesota's first home win at their brand new stadium - a 1-0 victory over DC United - and what better way to celebrate.

From the good to the ugly. Back in 2017, Orlando City christened their brand new 25,000 seater stadium with a dogged 1-0 win over New York City in the MLS opener.

But a certain chant from the game overshadowed a historic victory.

Tickets to the first match at Orlando City's stadium were being sold for up to $1,000, so many were expecting an atmosphere like no other - not the chant "move b*tch, get off the pitch!"

When New York defender Maxime Chanot looked to be struggling with an injury, Orlando fans aimed the rather terrible insult at Chanot as viewers cringed in horror.

It may have a 3,000-seat standing supporters section and a handful of other 'quirks' to enhance the atmosphere.

But I'm not sure the chairman had this in mind.
