Cesc Fabregas Beats Willian And Pedro In Speed Test By Using Intelligence Instead Of Pace
Willian and Pedro might be quicker than Cesc Fabregas on paper, but the Spaniard rinsed his Chelsea teammates in training during a quickness and agility test.
It's clear that both Willian and Pedro are shocked by the result, but it just shows that pace isn't everything, especially on the football pitch.
Fabregas posted the clip on Instagram and it soon went viral. He captioned the post:
The midfielder makes wise decisions throughout drill, picking up the cones in such an order to avoid having to make any drastic changes of direction.
Willian complains but he's beaten fair and square.
The guy even asks the coach for re-measurements as Fabregas wheels away in delight. Have you ever seen anything like it?
The thing is, Fabregas is an incredibly gifted footballer but even he couldn't beat Lionel Messi in one of these drills.
The midfielder was speaking to TYC Sports about his former days at Barcelona with the world's greatest, a player who he spent time together in Catalonia during the glory days of tika-taka football.
"There's one story which stays with me, others I can't tell you," said a tight-lipped Fabregas, presumably not wanting to discuss all the occasions Messi utterly humiliated him.
"I had to defend against him and you know he's going to the left, and he does, but he still makes me fall to the floor."
Even he admits it. The true GOAT.
